Can tourism be nature-positive?

tourism can benefit nature if it is planned and managed sustainably and responsibly. Nature-positive tourism focuses on promoting conservation, biodiversity and ecosystem health, while providing economic benefits to local communities.

This type of tourism aims to minimize negative environmental impacts  and maximize positive impacts on natural habitats and species.

Nature-positive tourism practices can include:

Sustainable infrastructure: using environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficient design and waste management systems to reduce the environmental impact of tourism development.

Responsible Tourism: Offers activities that promote environmental awareness and education, such as guided nature walks, bird watching and nature conservation projects.  Supporting local conservation efforts: Partnering with local organizations to protect and restore natural habitats and ecosystems.

Supporting local communities: providing economic benefits to local communities by providing products and services locally and employing local people.

Carbon offsetting: offsetting  carbon emissions from tourism by investing in renewable energies and reforestation projects.
