HISTORY OF THE ROSE GARDEN IN CHANDIGARH
A true traveller, it is claimed, is someone who first learns about the history of the location he or she is intending to visit before moving on.
The Rose Garden is the LARGEST ROSE GARDEN IN ASIA, and it is a privilege for Chandigarh. It is officially known as “Zakir Hussain Rose Garden Chandigarh," after former Indian President "Dr. Zakir Hussain." It was founded in 1967 under the able leadership of MS Randhawa, a well-known botanist, historian, art and cultural booster.
The Garden stretches across 40.25 acres. It has 1600 different types of roses. There are a total of 32500 plants, including rose varietals, medicinal plants, and trees. It's a long way from the city's buzz and bustle.

ROSE GARDEN OF ZAKIR HUSSAIN- HEAVEN OF SCENTS
I was greeted by a nice blended aroma of flowers as soon as I reached the gate. My will to move forward grew stronger. Walking a few steps more, I came across hundreds of different rose kinds in front of me, each one displaying its beauty to the fullest.
It astounded me because I had no idea that there are 825 different species in addition to red, yellow, and white. It will take time to walk around and inspect each rose.
Let me tell you something: the roses in this garden are named after famous national and worldwide figures such as Queen Elizabeth, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and others. Dullahan, Hippie Girl, American Heritage, Wild Plum, Delhi Prince, and more roses have strange names.
Isn't it incredible?
The roses are planted in elegantly carved out beds that do not interfere with one another, maintaining the purity of the space. Each rose is accompanied by a wooden block that, in a nutshell, identifies which rose it is and where it came from.
APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF ROSES
Everything is so well-organized that you won't be able to locate any flaws. You can see right away that this location was created with everyone's expectations in mind.
It ties you to the divine since it is heaven of flowers. I can confidently state that THE BEAUTIFUL CITY is well-known as the most popular tourist attraction among people of all ages. Whoever arrives here must pay a visit here; otherwise, their trip will be incomplete.
Aside from roses, medicinal plants such as camphor, Bel, Gulmohar, Harad, Bahera, and others are planted here. Everyone has a part to perform, and it also provides a nice scent to the atmosphere.

WHAT DIFFERENT I EXPERIENCED!
The Garden is 40 acres in size, so it takes a lot of time and effort to see everything. I sat on a bench under the large tree and closed my eyes since I was exhausted. Something was off about this place. The chirping of birds, the falling of dry leaves from trees, and the cold breeze caressing my hair made me feel as if I were witnessing a movie. This was a completely unrealistic experience.
Every health nut seeks out the perfectly laid out walking path with trees spanning the fence. I arrived early in the morning and was fortunate enough to see individuals jogging, walking, running, and working out vigorously and with utmost enthusiasm.
I had heard that the folks here are health nuts, and I discovered this after moving here. A special zone with various swings was set aside for children. If you want to appreciate the beauty of this location, you'll need to keep the youngsters entertained. Apart from the jokes, let's keep on since otherwise we'll be here for a day or more.

HOW DO I GET TO THE ROSE GARDEN IN CHANDIGARH?
I was travelling from Pathankot to Chandigarh when I had this incident. A bus dropped me off in Sector 43, the city's main bus station. I then took a cab to Sector 16 and arrived at the garden.
If you are coming from a nearby state such as Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, or Uttar Pradesh, the best alternative is to take a BUS. If the bus is not available, the train is the next best option. Chandigarh has a railway station where trains from all over the country frequently arrive and depart. You can order a cab or take an auto to get to the garden after you arrive.
Take note of this and don't be fooled by Auto Walas. They frequently request additional funds from outside sources. Rather of being looted, it's always preferable to ask your local friends what the genuine rate is and pay accordingly.
If this is not an option, you can take a flight from any state or country. You can book a cab from the airport to get to your location.
Because the Garden is next to the Sector 16 to Sector 17 bus stop, you may catch a CITY AC/NON-AC bus from here for less than ten rupees, and the Garden is on the main road. The AC bus costs 25 Rs and the non-AC bus costs 15 Rs to get to Sector 17, from where you may take an auto to Sector 16B and get to your destination.
If you come here for the convenience of all the listed possibilities, there is a parking facility available. It costs ten rupees to park a private vehicle; however it is free for bikes.

THINGS TO DO IN CHANDIGARH'S ROSE GARDEN
You may accomplish a lot of different things here. I outlined everything so you don't miss anything and get the most out of your experience. It is at the top of the list of places to visit in Chandigarh for couples because it is one of the most popular picnic and hangout spots for city dwellers and others. I'll tell you why later.
Between the winter and spring seasons, from November to March, is the perfect time to visit Rose Garden Chandigarh. The flowers are in full bloom at this time, exhibiting their allure. Rose Garden is the only one of its kind in the world.
GET A FEW INSIGHTS INTO BEWILDERING ROSE VARIETIES
Have you ever envisioned yourself in a rose-filled garden with roses growing everywhere? I never did, but I did get the opportunity to visit one. Every rose has its own personality and charm. If you're a botanist or a nature lover, the Rose Garden in Chandigarh should always be at the top of your list.
REJUVENATE YOURSELF WITH A WORKOUT
If you come here early in the morning, you will observe both young people and senior citizens exercising. What could be better than working out in a garden filled with exotic scents, which quickly revitalises the entire being? Inhale the fresh air.
MEDITATION
I didn't have enough time, so I sat on the grass for 5 minutes and meditated. I'm not sure if it was the setting or the fact that I was doing meditation for the first time, but I felt instantly rejuvenated. At the very least, I had the stamina to take a vigorous stroll across the entire garden.
APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF NATURE
I'd always heard that nature had bestowed many lovely gifts upon humans, and this location was one of them. Everything that was going on around me added to the ambiance's attractiveness.
SWINGS FOR CHILDREN
We are no longer children, yet a heart is always present. I simply hopped on the swings and reminisced about my childhood. However, it was an incredible experience.
BIG WIND CHIME
I heard a melodious tone as I moved onward. After taking a few more feet, I came across a large wind chime. I'd never seen one so large before. It looked like a tree, and whenever the wind blew, the chimes gently brushed against each other, producing a lovely melody. You should use it to take a picture.
SPOT LOVEBIRDS
Although it may appear odd, my eyes drew the attention of many lovers. Students from local high schools and colleges are frequently seen hanging out here after skipping classes. Instead of enjoying nature, they wanted to spend time with their loved one. Newlywed couples can also be seen walking around hand in hand.
FOUNTAIN OF MUSIC
If at all feasible, I recommend staying in the garden in the evening to watch a musical fountain display. Clean benches are placed around the perimeter, where you can sit and enjoy the drizzle.

How can a travel blogger overlook the importance of capturing compelling images? I also took some scenic photos, which I've included in this post to give you a virtual tour of the garden.
BOOTH VERKA
Are you tired of walking and want to eat something nutritious? In the garden, there is a Verka booth. To relieve your hunger, you can purchase kheer, juice, burger, lassi, ice cream, bread pizza, and other items at this location. Furthermore, hawkers can be spotted selling BHELPURI and various CHAATS in the area.
